Pixel Habit Tracker Pro: One Purchase, Forever Yours

It has been a little over a month since I launched Pixel Habit Tracker, and honestly, the response from this community has been more than I could have hoped for as a first-time Android dev. Thank you to everyone who downloaded it, sent feedback, and pushed me to make it better.

When I shipped that first release, I had a short list of things I promised were “coming soon.” I’m happy to say most of that list is now done — and along the way, the app grew into something bigger than I originally planned. So today I want to talk through everything that’s changed, and introduce Pixel Habit Tracker Pro.

The Roadmap, Delivered

Remember those “what’s next” items from launch? They’re live:

  • Home Screen Widgets are here. Check off your habits straight from your launcher. No need to open the app at all.
  • Full Data Backup & Restore is here too. Your habits, logs, and settings can be exported to a file and restored anytime, on any device. Your streaks are yours, fully portable, fully in your control.
  • Previous-Day Habit Logging became a reality.
  • Support for XR, Tablets and Foldables.

On top of that, I added something I didn’t originally plan but couldn’t stop thinking about once I started prototyping it: Weekly and Monthly Activity Reports: an animated dashboard with a productivity radar chart and a consistency matrix that actually makes your data fun to look back on. There’s also a redesigned Settings and About experience to match the rest of the app’s Material 3 Expressive language, and a few new app icon styles if you want your home screen to feel a little more you.

Why I’m Introducing Pro

I promised “100% free, no ads, no subscriptions” at launch, and I want to be upfront about what’s changing and what isn’t.

Pixel Habit Tracker is, and will stay, a fully capable free app. Core tracking, daily targets, categories, reminders, streaks, the heatmap, full stats — none of that goes away or gets watered down. There are still no ads. There never will be.

What’s new is Pixel Pro — a single, one-time purchase. No subscription, no recurring charge, no “free trial that quietly starts billing you.” You pay once, and it’s yours forever. Pro unlocks:

  • Unlimited custom categories (the free tier covers up to 5, which is plenty for most people just getting started)
  • Extended history and deeper stats lookback
  • 5 exclusive app icon styles, just for Pro users
  • 5 new app theme colors
  • Pitch-Black Dark Mode
  • Access to Monthly Reports

I built Pixel Labs as a one-person shop, and “Buy Me a Coffee” only goes so far when you’re trying to actually sustain an app long-term (fixing bugs, supporting new Android versions, and building the next round of features people are asking for). Pro is my way of making that sustainable without ever touching the free experience or running a single ad. If you’ve been getting value out of the app and want to support where it’s headed, it’s there. If not, the free app isn’t going anywhere.

What’s Next

This is far from the finish line. I’m already looking at expanding the widget lineup, support for wearables, deeper insights inside the activity reports, and a few Pro features that are still just sketches in my notes app right now.

As always, I’d love to hear what you think, what you’re using Pro for, what’s missing, what would make this app indispensable for you. Drop a comment, send a DM, or tag me on X at @EdenKollcinaku.

To report any bugs or problems, you can drop them on this page.
